Arsenal have won the Community Shield football title before the start of the new season in the Premier League.

Arsenal beat the champions of the Premier League, Liverpool by 5-4. In a penalty shootout at Wembley Stadium on Saturday, after having equal scores at the end of scheduled time, Arsenal won the match . Arsenal captain Pierre Emerick Aubameyang scored the decisive goal from the penalty spot.

Arsenal have won the Community Shield for the 16th time and Manchester United have won the title 21 times more than Arsenal.

 
The match was decided by a penalty shootout after the scheduled 90 minute match ended in a 1-1 draw. Arsenal took the lead through Aubameyang's goal. His goal in the 12th minute was excellent.

All five Arsenal players scored from the penalty spot. Reyes Nelson, Ansley Maitland Niles, Cedric Soares, David Luiz and Pierre Emerick Aubameyang scored one goal each for the London club.

Liverpool's four players Mohamed Salah, Fabinho, Takumi Minamino and Curtis Jones scored one goals each. However, young player Rihan Brewster's shot hit the cross bar and came out. Ryan Brewster was the only one to miss a goal for Liverpool.

Earlier, in the 12th minute of the game, Pierre Emerick Aubameyang gave Arsenal the lead by scoring a goal. However, Minamino from Japan equalized for Liverpool in the 73rd minute. This is his first goal for the club. He entered the field as a substitute player and scored the goal.

The Community Shield is played between the winner's of Premier League and the winner's of FA Cup before the new season. Arsenal is the winner of the FA Cup and Liverpool is the winner of the Premier League. After 30 years, Liverpool has managed to win the league title. This game traditionally marks the beginning of a new season in English football.
